QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"To ask the Chief Executive to increase funding for special events in Tallaght area like the St Patrick's Day Festival?  This event needs more funding to be able to run successfully on a yearly basis?"

REPLY:

"The Community Services Department has an annual budget to assist local community groups across the County, including Tallaght, who may wish to organise local community festivals and celebrations such as those associated with St Patrick’s Day.

In 2015 a local Tallaght St Patrick’s Day Organising Committee was grant aided and supported with the use of grounds adjacent to Tallaght Stadium/Sean Walshe Park. No applications or contact was received requesting any such supports in 2016."
