QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to present an update on efforts being made to deal with the issues at the Swimming Pool at the Tallaght Leisure Centre which were highlighted at the meeting of Tallaght Area Committee in September and will he give assurances in the matter?"

REPLY:

"The Council has received a report from the suppliers outlining the works required and an estimated cost. The proposed works include the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of a new boom. The estimate is significent and work is ongoing to identify other solutions that are more cost effective.

Given the scale of the works, any solution will require a lead-in time of 4 to 6 months.

The Tallaght pool continues to operate and deliver all swim options with the exception of 25m lane swims. This option is available at Clondalkin Leisure Centre. The managent at TLC continue to keep swim clubs up to date on developments."
