MOTION NO. 17

MOTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

"That this Area Committee agrees to the installation of a much needed pedestrian crossing between Woodview and Tesco Shopping Centre along with ancillary improvements to the pedestrianized area around the shopping centre in an effort to improve safety in the area." 

REPORT:

"The location referred to serves only as an access to the Tesco Car Park.  While there are some issues with parking in the area, no difficulties have been observed for pedestrian movements.  The Council are making adjustments to the on-road parking area and Double Yellow line areas in the coming weeks and it is expected that these will improve the general amenity of the location.

The provison of a pedestrian crossing would not be appropriate.

It is noted that the location has no history of accidents."
