QUESTION NO. 11

QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

"Could the Chief Executive ensure that the following  outstanding issues in relation to works at Newlands cross be addressed.

1. The noise emanating from the large gantry on the new flyover which affects Newlands residents at all times, but especially at night.

2. The noise that rings out when a vehicle drives over the

manhole covers on the slip road which is adjacent to the Newlands houses. The manhole covers are near to the aforementioned gantry.

3. The fact that most sections of the new footpath on the sliproad under the flyover and adjacent to the Newlands houses are badly cracked.  This is a popular walking route. Such shoddy workmanship is unacceptable."

REPLY:

These issues have been referred to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) for response as they have responsibility for the design, construction and ongoing maintenance of the subject area.
