MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

"That this committee supports the Clondalkin Men's Shed in acquiring the use of a container in Corkagh Park, currently temporarily used by Park wardens, previously agreed to by the Council and asks management to provide a timeline for this."

REPORT:

As previously reported to the committee meeting in January 2016 under Motion 15, Corkagh Park is a public park and as such is subject to park opening hours. The park opens at 10:00am each day and closes at various times during the year in accordance with daylight hours. Currently it closes at 8:00pm and this reduces to 5:00pm in the winter months.

It would not be appropriate to locate a Men's shed in Corkagh Park where restrictions regarding access would make the proposal unsustainable. It should also be noted that there are no containers in Corkagh Park that are in temporary use.
