QUESTION NO. 6
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
"To ask for a full report into what is the criteria for being regarded as Homeless in the Clondalkin area and to ask who set this criteria?"
REPLY:
The criteria for homelessness has been developed by the DRHE and is in keeping with the Social Housing Assessment Regulations 2011 and this Council's Allocations Scheme which is applicable on a Countywide basis.
In assessing homeless persons, the Council will have regard for recommendations from its Homeless Assessment and Placement Service who shall, in the course of investigating the circumstances of applicants for homeless priority, consult with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate.
The onus is on the person presenting to prove and provide documentary evidence to support their claim. This may include such items as a valid Notice to Quit, a barring order and other evidence required on a case by case basis depending on the circumstances involved.
