QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor K. Mahon
"To ask the Chief Executive to please advise on recent flood mitigation/drainage works carried out at Bolbrook Drive Tallaght. Please advise by what standards the work is measured and under what framework the work is deemed sufficient so residents affected by flooding in the area can resolve this with their Insurance Companies?"
REPLY:
A non return valve has been fitted to the private drains on these houses by SDCC on behalf of Irish Water. This solution is considered good engineering practice in response to the difficulties experienced at this location. The public foul network is owned and managed by Irish Water and any letter required for insurance purposes needs to be requested from Irish Water directly
