QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"To ask the Chief Executive to please report on the current Traveller Accommodation Programme.  Have the Council any plans to open up more sites and if so where are they to be placed?"

REPLY:

The Current Traveller Accomodation Programme 2014-2018 identifies a number of locations at new developments including Newcastle, Rathcoole, Adamstown, Bustyhill, Blackchurch and Brittas. The development of these sites is dependent on demand and available funding from the Dept of Housing Planning, Community and Local Government.  

The priority of the current Traveller Accomodation Programme as determined by the Local Traveller Accomodation Consultative Committee is for the redevelopment of the existing sites at Oldcastle and St.Aidans.
