QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on progress on the proposal that this Council take over responsibility for the Traffic Lights at the junction of Kennelsfort Road/The Coldcut?"

REPLY:

No such proposal has been put to the Council. There is a legal agreement between Dublin City Council and South Dublin County Council in this matter. To revoke this agreement would require that a formal proposal recinding such agreement be put to and approved by both Councils.

A considerable outlay would also be required to install traffic equipment to SDCC specification.

Should the members so desire the Law Agent could be asked to draw up such a proposal in accordance with the Local Government Acts.
