QUESTION: Councillor K. Mahon

"The Council recently advised that a pilot programme of dog foul bag dispensers was to be launched in local parks. Can the Department please update and advise whether Kingswood/ Newlands Cemetary Park is to be included in this programme, and whether this will include the provision of litter bins in the parks?"

REPLY:

The pilot proposed provision of doggie bag dispensers at two parks: Rathcoole and Rathfarnham.

Arrangement are currently being made for installation at these locations, which will,if necessary,include the provision of a litter bin in proximity to the entrance to the parks in question.

It is not proposed to install dispensers at other locations until the pilot is evaluated and benefits identified.
