QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To provide a report on Step down accommodation in SDCC , numbers on list and how this will be accommodated in order to free up much needed housing ?

REPLY:

Currently, there are approx. 1000 tenants aged 55+ who are over-accommodated in Council houses. The Council is currently progressing three projects within the County with potential for delivery of a  combined total of approx. 80 units for step-down accommodation/sheltered accommodation for older persons. As soon as the projects are finalised and approved interest will be sought from the tenants.
