QUESTION NO.3

QUESTION: Councillor P. Foley

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the Dodder Cycleway?

REPLY:

The Dodder Greenway Project will provide a pedestrian and cycle link from the City Centre to Bohernabreena. The Project Feasibility Report is completed and available on the council website at the following link:

The Project is at preliminary design stage in South Dublin County, Dublin City and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. South Dublin County Council is currently carrying out the environmental assessment processes for the Project. As part of that process a constraints study is currently underway which will inform the selection of the preferred route. The preferred route will undergo screening for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA). Once the EIA/AA screening process is completed the planning process will commence. The preferred route will be brought to an official meeting of the Councillors prior to the commencement of public consultation. Both the constraints study and environmental assessments will be continued over the summer months.
