MOTION NO. 5
MOTION: Councillor C. King
Cathaoirleachs Business
That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to report on what efforts have been made to stop access to Kiltalown Park by those on quad and motor bikes at Kiltalown View and The Elms (Kiltalown). This illegal access into the Park is having a hugely negative impact on the users of the Park and nearby residents but also on the holistic treatments and counselling sessions taking place in Kiltalown House by staff of Tallaght Rehabilitation Project.
REPORT:
Kiltalown Park has been inspected recently and a number of entrance gates found to have been vandalised in such a way that motorbikes can gain access. The gates in question are at Kiltalown View and out onto the N81. These gates have been vandalised on repeated occasions, with power tools having been used by the vandals to cut out and remove sections of these very heavy gates. It is proposed that the gates will be repaired once again in an effort to keep motorbikes and quads out.
