QUESTION NO. 9

QUESTION: Councillor C. King

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report on the findings of the investigation into the illegal access by stolen and "company" cars onto the green space between Whitestown Stream and Dromcarra and Bawnlea Estates?"

REPLY:

The area in question between Dromcarra and Bawnlea Estates and the Whitestown Stream has been examined, it is surrounded on all sides by a low stub wall which is intact and has not been breached in any location.  It has been reported and confirmed by Council staff that any car gaining access to this area is doing so by way of ramps being formed to allow it to cross the low wall.  Unfortunatley it is not possible for the Council to put in place any measures at this time which would resolve this problem.  Any resident who witnesses this type of activity should report it to both the Council and the Gardai.  At the present time there is no evidence of cars being driven in the enclosed area.
