HEADED ITEM NO. 14
HEADED ITEM: A. Mills
Report on the possibility of building two infill houses in between the laneway on Brookview Drive.
REPLY:
This location has been examined this by the Councils Architects Department and they have confirmed the following-
The watermain at 675mm is a high-pressure main and cannot be culverted or bridged over. Normally it is not even allowable to dig within 5.o metres each side of the main. It is not possible to relocate this section of main because it passes through this narrow green area. The whole main would need to be moved down onto the Brookfield Road at enormous cost and with huge inconvenience to the area in road excavation and water cut-offs.
Irish Water have serious difficulty working in the area.
The site is not large enough to accommodate two houses to match neighbouring units. Consideration might be given to sharing this area between the two adjoining houses and incorporating it into their gardens.
