ANTI SOCIAL SUB COMMITTEE 27th APRIL 2016

The issue of the effectiveness of our Community CCTV project was discussed and the resources problem surrounding the monitoring of same. A discussion and ideas developed regarding the possibility of a Joint Operation between SDCC and Tallaght Gardaí to monitor CCTV. It was agreed to pursue this possibility.  

The Tenancy Agreement was discussed in relation to anti social and review of this document is to take place. A copy of the tenancy agreement will be emailed to all members of the sub committee.  

A discussion developed regarding the impact on our anti social policy as a result of new guidelines - - the sub committee is to Seek Garda clarification on the use of ASBOS in this regard. The sub Committee will also seek clarification from Tallaght Gardaí regarding their buy in to the Committee.  

A discussion took place regarding how to use Social media based initiative to inform residents on how to best report A/S behaviour correctly. This idea is to be discussed and developed further.  

The final item discussed was the possibility of developing a Text alert service for residents and businesses to report suspicious, criminal or anti social behaviour. This proposal to be discussed with the Gardaí as a joint initiative between SDCC and themselves.
