COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE
Wednesday, April 20, 2016
MOTION NO. 16
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
"This committee requests a co-ordinated response to the problem of dumping in St Cuthbert's Park, particularly at the entrance opposite Oldcastle Drive.
This should be done as part of an overall plan to reduce anti social activity in the park."
REPORT:
Since January 2015, the Council's Enforcement & Licensing Section has received three complaints of illegal dumping, in the vicinity of St. Cuthbert's Park, Clondalkin. Arrangements were made to have one burnt out vehicle removed from the Park itself in January of this year. It is intended to take an interdepartmental / coordinated approach to this problem.
The Council is conscious of an apparent escalation of anti-social activity in the park and is working with relevant stakeholders to try to develop a suite of proposals, both short and long term, to help address the issues which have presented.
