QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report regarding the roll out of the Children at Play signage in the Tallaght area, as to which areas have been completed and can he indicate if any other areas, in particular St. Aongus, Tymon North and Tymonville Estates, will be listed for signage this year?"

REPLY:

Children at Play signs were provided at 14 agreed locations in the area covered by the Tallaght Area Committee in 2015. There is no specific provision for Children at Play signs in the Traffic budget for 2016.

However, as part of the Speed Limit review it is anticipated that “Slow Zone” signs (incorporating a 30 kph speed limit and “children symbols”) will be provided at a number of locations. The speed limit review is ongoing and the final outcome will not be known until the procedure outlined in the presentation to the March Area Committee meeting is complete.
