MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
"That the Chief Executive examine the possibility of installing zebra crossing’s at the roundabout on the Griffeen road/Esker road which would link the two Griffeen parks providing a continuous pedestrian and cycling route through the 3 sections of the Griffeen parks. These two pedestrian crossing and the pedestrian crossing planned at Arthur Griffith park would then mean that every exit of the Griffeen parks would have a pedestrian crossing allowing easier and safer access and considering the amount of schools in the areas it will also make access to school a lot safer."
REPORT:
"Funding exists to provide 4 no. Pedestrian crossings in the Lucan E.A. in 2016 (2 as per 2015 program and 2 as per 2016 program) In this context it has been agreed to carry out a count at Arthur Griffith Park to determine the extent of usage. If the committee so decides, the additional locations can be added to the list for examination. It should be noted that no locations for the provison of crossings have as yet been decided."
