QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

"To ask the Chief Executive to update the committee on the attempts to assist the Clondalkin Mammies mothers group in their efforts to find a suitable community location for them to meet."

REPLY:

A member of the Community Development Team has been in touch with the organiser of this group and they spoke about the requirements and costs of running a mother and toddler group.  They have looked at community centres but are reluctant to commit to rent on a room as they are unsure of numbers. The possibility of joining an established Mother and Toddler Group was also explored but they are reluctant to do this at present.  The Community Development Team are available to meet with the group to further explore  their options and provide any assistance possible and are awaiting further communication from the organisers of the Clondalkin Mammies.
