"Given that enforcement of (any) traffic restriction cannot be left to An Garda Siochana alone if other measures can assist, that the feasibility, cost and time frame for installing chicanes inside the HGV restriction zone i.e. on Kennelsfort Road between the entrance to Woodfarm Acres and the R148 and at the Oval or other suitable location(s) within the cell between Kennelsfort Road and the R148 be carried out as a matter of urgency and a report brought to the March LAC."

REPORT:

Permanent road infrastructure that would impede the movement of vehicles covered by a temporary ban cannot be provided. Accordingly chicanes do not pass the feasibility test as an appropriate measure for controlling HGV movements along Kennelsforth Road.

SDCC have no enforcement powers in this matter and it must be dealt with through An Garda Siochana.
