QUESTION NO. 5

QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"To ask the Chief Executive to report on graffiti clean-ups in the last three months in the Lucan and Palmerstown Area; to outline why graffiti in Palmers Drive, Palmerstown (opposite number 50) has still not been cleared despite logging and scheduling in November 2015; to outline a timeframe for completion; and if she will make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

The Probation Service under a local service agreement  provide a graffiti removal service in the South Dublin Administrative Area.

However, there was an issue with regard to the availability of graffiti removal chemicals, which resulted in no graffiti been removed in the latter quarter of 2015 early 2016 . The issue of the availability of the chemicals  has now been resolved  and the Probation Service will resume service this week .  Priority will be given to the removal of the graffiti mentioned .

A  review of the graffiti removal service is underway in accordance with the objectives as set out in the recently adopted Litter Management Plan 2015 - 2019.
