MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

"That the Chief Executive arrange to have a raised mound constructed in Esker Cemetery at the location where the alter for the annual mass is placed. The said mound should be approximately 2ft High and 16ft x 12ft and be sloped and grassed over for easy maintenance"

REPORT: 

It is not intended to construct a raised mound in Esker Cemetery.

The location has been examined and it has been determined that it would not be possible to provide a mound to these dimensions as the area available would not allow sufficient grading of the slopes.  The slopes would be too steep and create an unacceptable risk in a currently low risk area. 

Furthermore it would not be possible to maintain the grass on the steep slopes.
