EXPENDITURE - NEW ROADS/QBCs/SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
QUESTION: Councillor F. McCarthy
"To ask the Manager to report upon the difference in expenditure by the Council in 2005 on the construction of new roads and that spent on Quality Bus Corridors and the Safe Routes to Schools scheme?"
REPLY:
In the financial year 2005 €31.9m was spent on Road Construction projects including National Routes. €7.9m was spent on Quality Bus Corridor provisions and €33,000 on Safe Routes to School projects.
The above monies came from various capital resources whilst the projects undertaken are in accordance with the Council's respective development programmes which have been approved by the Council.
