MOTION: Councillor F.N. Duffy

"That the Chief Executive registers the rath of Rathfarnham into SDCC ownership. The strip of land runs along the south side of Springfield Avenue adjacent to the river Dodder, between Rathfarnham Bridge and Woodview cottages (the land is currently maintained by SDCC).  As part of the original ‘rath’ of Rathfarnham it has important heritage value and should be protected.”

REPORT:

"The Council is not in a position to register the lands, the subject of this motion into the ownership of the Council as it does not have title to the lands.

The lands in question are not registered in Land Registry and the Council are not in a position to confirm who actually owns the land."
