Page 219 - insert 'or equivalent ' after CEM III/a on the first line.

To support and promote the use of CEM III/a or equivalent cement classification. The use of green building methods such as BREEAM and LEED ensures a whole life cycle approach to building design including operational carbon and embodied carbon. This holistic approach results in low energy demand buildings with a significantly reduced carbon footprint and a higher commercial value.

REPORT:

This motion proposes the insertion of the word ‘equivalent’ as a means of supporting the use of alternative cement classification types in the construction of new buildings across South Dublin County. This is considered acceptable.

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
