QUESTION NO. 17
QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty
"To ask the Chief Executive to report on all communications, formal, indicative or informal, verbal and written made by the Minister for the Environment or his officials to Council Staff, in recent weeks, in relation to a decision being made on whether to merge the Clonburris SZD lands with the Council's own lands; to indicate to the best of his ability, the likely timeframe for such a response if none given as of yet; and if he will make a statement on the matter."
REPLY:
Formal correspondence in relation to the Minster's consideration of the Clonburris SDZ boundary extension was received from the DECLG on the 19th of January 2016. This correspondence confirms that the SDZ boundary extention proposed by the Council was approved by Government Order on the 15 December 2015. The boundary of the order encompasses an area of 280 hectares including all lands formerly subject to Clonburris Local Area Plan and includes lands in the ownership of South Dublin County Council. A draft planning scheme is required to be prepared within 2 years of the Order.
