MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to present a detailed report, for discussion, on plans to progress the Playground/Playspace programme in Lucan in 2016, with particular reference to delays in progressing the planned playground replacement at Griffeen Valley Park and the request from Finnstown residents that their estates not be considered for playspaces."

REPORT:

Provision has been made in the 2016 – 2018 3 Year Capital Programme for a Regional Parks Playground Refurbishment Programme and Griffeen Valley in the Lucan Electoral Area and Tymon Park in the Tallaght Central Electoral areas are included in this. Design work has already commenced on these projects and it is the intention of the Council to advertise both for tender shortly.

It is also noted that the Elected Members have expressed a wish that the Play Space listed as Finnstown be reconsidered as including the general Newcastle Road area.
