MOTION NO.4

MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"That the Chief Executive reports on the up to date and realistic consultation/tender/delivery timescales involved for the refurbished playground in Griffeen Valley Park and the proposed new playground in Waterstown Park, given that progress has been slower than expected following the respective €180,000 funding allocations for 2015; that a full explanation for delays to date be given; and if she will make a statement on the matter."

REPORT:

Provision has been made in the 2016 – 2018 3 Year Capital Programme for a Regional Parks Playground Refurbishment Programme and Griffeen Valley in the Lucan Electoral Area and Tymon Park in the Tallaght Central Electoral areas are included in this. Design work has commenced on these projects and it is the intention of the Council to advertise both for tender shortly.

There is no provision in the current capital programme for a play ground in Waterstown Park.
