QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"To ask the Chief Executive if there has been any recent movement towards developing an Enterprise Centre in this Lucan Palmerstown EA?"

REPLY:

There has been no progress to date on developing an Enterprise Centre in the Lucan Palmerstown area.  However, the Council's 2016 Budget did make provision through the Business Support Fund to introduce a grant scheme for the refurbishment of vacant industrial premises for use as micro enterprise space together with a rates holiday for Local Enterprise Office supported micro-enterprises that locate in refurbished premises.  Together with the range of other supports provided by the LEO to new and emerging enterprises, this provides scope for enterprise development in the Lucan Palmerstown area.
