QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor M. Murphy
"To ask the Chief Executive what plans does the Council have to cut back the undergrowth either side of the Oldbawn bridge so that the waterfall can be viewed safely from inside the park? The stick the Council is being beaten with in relation to putting a Sports Pavillion in Dodder Park is its lack of drainage of the pitches and general maintenance in the park. The fact that Oldbawn Bridge is almost completely obscured from inside the Park by undergrowth is a case in point.
REPLY:
The Council's Public Realm section plans to carry out maintenance work during 2016 to address the issue at the Dodder referred to here. Clearing of bushes and brambles will be carried out in order to improve access to the river bank in this area. The location in question is potentially dangerous and therefore any works to be carried out must treat public safety as being of paramount importance.
