QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

"To ask the Chief Executive if there has been any contact from any government minister about the reopening the swimming pool grant scheme. If there has is the any chance that the grant will be given before the end of the current dail term?"

REPLY:

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport has recently announced that he is considering making a limited number of allocations under the Local Authority Swimming Pool Programme for the construction of new swimming pools and / or the refurbishment of existing pools.

Expressions of interest are to be submitted no later than 5.00pm on Friday 5th February 2016.
