"That the situation leading to the regular wandering of loose horses on the Newcastle Road be address so that this hazard for motorists and local residents be eliminated or curtailed and that Management report on the number of such horses that have been rounded up year to date."

REPORT:

A total of 231 horses were seized across the County in 2015, of which 24 were seized in the Lucan Electoral Area (LEA).  Ten (10) of those 24 seized were from the Newcastle Road area. 

To date in 2016, a total of 7 horses have been seized across the County, with no horses seized in the LEA.

All complaints of loose horses should be reported promptly and directly to the Council within office hours to afford the contractor the best chance of seizure.

Reports of sightings of loose horses outside of office hours should be made directly to the Gardai.
