QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to give assurances that everything possible is being done to clear the backlog of Maintenance requests from tenants in the Tallaght area and will he give an update in that regard?"

REPLY:

During the course of 2015 the Housing Maintenance Section including the Maintenance Depot in Jobstown has lost a number of key staff through retirement. Following the agreement of the Work Force Plan for the depots interviews have been held for the appointment of 4 Foremen of Work in this depot. These are now in place and each responsible for a specific area with an assigned team.   

New processes have been undertaken to improve the delivery of housing maintenance services and it is porposed to undertake a full review of the housing maintenance process starting early in the new year.  This review will further inform any changes to be made to the process in the year ahead.
