COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE
Monday, November 23, 2015
QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff
"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report to this Committee indicating the cost of the clean up of bonfire sites after Halloween, in the Tallaght Area, and would the Chief Executive also indicate if there were more or less bonfires in 2015 in comparison to previous years?"
REPLY:
Bonfire sites around the County are currently being mapped and cleaned, this work has not yet been completed and therefore the total cost associated with bonfire clean up cannot be determined as yet. It is expected that this work will be completed by the end of the month and a full report on the matter will be presented in due course. It is not possible as yet to determine if the number of bonfires has increased from 2014, due to the fact that the mapping exercise is still underway.
