QUESTION NO. 12

QUESTION: Councillor M. Genockey

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the boundary wall at Swiftbrook. Has the tender now been issued? What is the plan now for the boundary; including details of the wall, various entrances and shrubbery?"

REPLY: 

A tender for the repair of the damaged sections of the wall and railing at Swiftbrook Estate has now been issued. The return date is the 27^th November 2015. Following analysis of the tenders received and the selection of a contractor, a decision will be made on a suitable start date in consultation with the nominated contractor and the Swiftbrook residents.

The proposed plans include for the repair of the damaged sections of stub wall and railings and the repair of damaged sections of brick. The plans also include for the installation of two kissing gates in order to allow for safe pedestrian access in a controlled manner and to avoid the scaling of the wall and railing by some visitors. Following the repair of the wall a hedge will be planted on the inside of the boundary in order to enhance the appearance of the open space and the estate itself.
