MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"That the Chief Executive reports on the recent proposal by the Minister for Education in relation to the provision of a sports hall at Adamstown and outlines what actions it plans to take in the coming months to ensure that a combined sports and community hall is constructed at the earliest opportunity, in the interests of Adamstown residents, Adamstown Community College and in terms of creating an environment for home building and house selling that will ensure further community gain in line with the phased provision enshrined in the SDZ process."

REPORT:

The Council has not been made aware of any intervention by the Minister for Education and Skills in respect of the delivery of the Adamstown Sports and Community Hall and is not in a position to make any further comment at this time. The issue remains a matter between the ETB and the developer.
