COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, October 27, 2015
MOTION NO. 12
MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
"That this Committee:
- calls on the Chief Executive to provide a detailed report, for discussion, on efforts to secure a resolution to the long-running saga in relation to the unauthorised removal in July 2013 of the grass verge at the corner at the entrance to Ballydowd Grove and replacement with a hard surface parking area;
- further notes the ongoing serious concerns regarding road safety at this location due to poor visibility for motorists exiting Ballydowd Grove resulting from vehicles being parked on the hard surface, as well as on the footpath along the N4, in regular contravention of double yellow lines;
- calls on the Chief Executive to install bollards to prevent unsafe parking on the footpath along the N4."
REPORT:
The Law Department has had ongoing contact with the legal representative of the person claiming ownership of the area in front of the beauty salon. Unfortunately, there has not been a satisfactory outcome to date. Efforts are continuing to resolve the matter and bring about a satisfactory conclusion.
