MOTION: Councillor J. Graham

"That this committee agree that 'a small pitch be aligned and permanent goalposts be erected on the green area between Harelawn Park & Grove' as part of outstanding dialogue between the Council & Harelawn Residents Committee, during and post the infill development." 

REPORT:

The open space at Harelawn Park/Grove is not large enough to accommodate a small pitch. In agreement with the residents a goal post was provided approximately 4 years ago to facilitate informal kickabout. The goal post survived for a number of years but was eventually removed due to persistent antisocial behaviour and fires.

Given the experience, there are no current proposals to reinstall a goalpost.
