"To ask the Chief Executive to present a report for discussion on the issue of illegal dumping on Knockmeenagh Lane detailing the frequency of reported incidents at this location over the past 12 months and options for measures that can be taken to reduce the level of dumping."
REPORT:
In the past twelve months the Council’s Litter Warden Service investigated a total of 54 complaints received in relation to illegal dumping at Knockmeenagh Lane.
The breakdown, and frequency of complaints, are as follows:

Regrettably, due to lack of evidence, it has been possible to issue only two Fixed Penalty Notices under the Litter Pollution Act 1997, as amended, with regard to dumping at this location.
In tandem with the development of the new Litter Management Plan and 2016 Budget, options to address areas which experience recurring illegal dumping are being explored at this time.
