MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

That this Committee ask's the Chief Executive to upgrade the CCTV camera in Ardmor, Tallaght as the quality and picture is not great. 

REPORT:

The footage obtained from the CCTV in the Ardmor area is generarly of sufficient quality for Estate Management /Anti Social issues in the area. There can be difficulty at night where subjects wear dark clothing and make efforts to disguise themselves from the cameras,  but it would require the use of High Tech Infra-red cameras as well as 24 hour control of them to improve on this.  It must be borne in mind is that none of these cameras are monitored on a 24 hour basis and it is not possible to do so.
