QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive to present an update on actions being taken in respect of the Traffic Management challenges at Solas Chriost, Cookstown Road, Tallaght, confirming further contacts made with the school management and will he also note the continued view of many in the community that a School Traffic Warden should be provided."

REPLY:

The following works were undertaken following agreement between SDCC and the Principal and Board of Management:

• Installation of double yellow lines on the north side of the road from the entrance to Roadstone to the entrance to Belgard Heights approximately.
• The provision of a parking bay along the southern side of the road for the same approximate distance.
• The re-location of the centrline road markings.
• New SLOW markings.

The works were completed during week ending 4/9/2015. Ongoing contact will be maintained with the School Principal to ensure the works are addressing all issues of concern at the location.
