MOTION NO. 13

MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

That this Committee asks the Chief Executive to have the speed limit reduced on the Blessington Road outside the Glenareen Cottages.  Additionally, to have the white line changed to a broken white line were residents are crossing over into their properties.

REPORT:

The speed limit will be reviewed as part of the current "Update of Speed Limits" being undertaken in conjunction with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

The continuous white centreline prohibits overtaking, for this reason it is not proposed to change it. Drivers may cross a continuous white centreline to enter or leave land or premises on the right hand side of the road.
