QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

"To ask the Chief Executive for a detailed update on the review of the Corkagh Park fisheries and to indicate when she intends to bring the matter to committee for discussion and decision?"

REPLY:

Corkagh Park Fishery is managed under licence on behalf of the Council by BK Management, who also operate the Camac Valley Camping and Caravan Park. The Council has consulted with Inland Fisheries Ireland during the summer months as part of the review process. As a result of those discussions, management is now considering the engagement of specialist consultants with expertise in this area to carry out a detailed business case review and to prepare recommendations to guide the future development of the facility. A further report will be brought to the Elected Members later this year to update on progress with the matter.
