COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM/TEMPLEOGUE-TERENURE AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, September 08, 2015
MOTION NO. 12
MOTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan
"That the Chief Executive prepares a report on the state of the footpaths within the Rathfarnham area, outlining which areas need immediate attention, how long works will take and the cost of such works. The uneven and unsafe state of a lot of the footpaths in the older estates within the Rathfarnham area is dangerous, especially for older residents who fear falling while out walking."
REPORT:
The Roads Department does not have the resources to carry out a county wide survey of all footpaths.
Footpath repairs in the Rathfarnham Area are included each year in the Roadworks Programme. The 2015 programme of works is currently ongoing. Preparation of a list of works has begun for path repairs which will be considered for inclusion in the 2016 Roadworks Programme. If a specific location or estate in the Rathfarnham Area is of concern, please forward the details to Roads Department staff who will arrange to have an inspection carried out.
