MOTION NO.12
MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin
Cathaoirleach's Business
"This Committee agrees that the Council should bring forward plans to develop new Council housing on land in Kilcarbery/Grange and to include these plans in the first phase of the new social housing strategy."
REPORT:
The Grange site was previously considered for a Public Private Partnership as a Design Build and Finance project under the Corkagh Grange Affordable Housing Initiative. The potential for social housing delivery will be examined in the coming months as a possible location for a joint venture proposals and also possibly as a location for a “Cost Rental” model project.
The Social Housing Strategy 2020 – Support, Supply and Reform announced last year provided for a Governance and Delivery structure providing for the establishment of Work Streams on Finance and on Housing Delivery and Operations. These Work Streams are currently working on possible working models incorporating such a model. Their advice in this regard is awaited.
