MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

"That the Council presents a report on parking options at Rathcoole Park with a view to assessing the feasibility of using the area opposite the Parks Depot, within the park, but currently unused as an amenity and potentially developing a one way route through this unused section of the park from Mill Road, Saggart (where access to the Parks Depot already exists) out onto Fitzmaurice Road as a left turn only."

REPORT:

An exit onto Fitzmaurice Road as a left turn only could be considered for a possible car park within the park. However, the use of the existing access to the Parks Depot from Mill Road, Saggart is not an option. It is a narrow road with poor visibility and there are additional safety concerns arising from possible conflicts with plant and machinery using the Parks Depot.
Other options need to be considered. Initial discussions have taken place with the Public Realm Department and it is intended to present a report on the options at the September 2015 Area Committee Meeting.
