QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

To ask the Chief Executive for a statistical report on the Members' Representations system, giving details of the number of queries submitted by (a) Councillors, (b) TD's and (c) Senators, classified by Department and with a report on average response time; to ask how many representations are outside of the two weeks stated response time; how many representations older than one month, three months, six months and one year are not responded to; to ask if Council members will be given priority in clearing the backlog of representations; and to make a statement on the matter?

REPLY:

A full report is being prepared for presentation to the Corporate Policy Group for their consideration, and a copy of this report will be forwarded directly to the Councillor as soon as the report is considered. A full review of the Members Reps system has been conducted and a number of changes are being implemented including monitoring of outstanding representations and details of the replies issued to allow for follow up responses as indicated in all replies.
