MOTION: Councillor D. Looney

That this Council commissions a report on options for purchasing, leasing, running or otherwise having control over Bohernabreena Reservoirs and Waterworks and the lands adjacent, which are currently run by Dublin City Council and are in the process of being handed over to Irish Water.

REPORT:

South Dublin County Council has ahd preliminary dicussions with Dublin City Council regarding their lands at Bohernabreena reservoirs with a view to establishing a Green Route Cycle Way encompassing the Dodder Valley.  It is envisaged that the optimum mechanism for such a development would be for a permissive path type arrangement to be agreed between the landowner and South Dublin County Council, thereby ensuring access is provided to this important recreational and leisure site.

The Members will be kept updated on the progress of the Dodder Green Way project in general and this issue in particular.
