MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

"To ask the Manger if it is acceptable that a building within an industrial area but due to its location contributes to the quality of the residential area, can have extensive graffiti and apparently this can be approved by the Planning Department without any input form the Public."

REPORT:

Development that would render the external appearance of a building inconsistent with the character of adjoining buildings and/or an area is generally not exempt development and would normally require planning permission.  If there is a particular location where this has arisen or is about to arise as an issue it would be appropriate to bring it to the attention of the planning department.
